We’re on Steam Early Access!

We’re pleased to announce that as of today (June 3), Stonehearth is available on Steam Early Access.

If you don’t already have Stonehearth, you can now buy it on Steam Early Access; you can also purchase directly from us here.

And if you enjoy your time in the world of Stonehearth, we hope you’ll rate us highly and give us a kind review on our Steam page.

Why Early Access?

We believe that games are at their best when they’re shared with friends. That’s why a core part of our game philosophy is making you, our community, part of the development process. This began with our Kickstarter and throughout the early development of Stonehearth you’ve been involved – testing, playing, finding bugs, suggesting features. Stonehearth has a passionate, and engaged, community dedicated to helping us create the best game possible.

Moving to Early Access is the next stage of this process.

Steam Early Access is a great way for us to embrace a wider community of players while continuing to build and polish the game. We’re doing this now because the game is complete enough to represent the core gameplay, and it’s early enough for us to still respond to feedback.

What’s next?

It’s important to understand that Stonehearth isn’t finished yet. Not by a long shot. But Stonehearth, as it stands now, is a game with fun, robust gameplay and plenty to do and explore.

farmerSteam Early Access will not change the way we talk with you guys or update the game. Desktop Tuesday will continue, as will the weekly streams. Alphas will continue to come out every 4-8 weeks.

The only change is that new players will be able to buy the game directly from Steam if they wish. We will continue to offer a non-Steam, DRM-free version for those who want it through our Store.

If you have already bought the game and entered your Steam key, you don’t have to change anything.

To our Stonehearth veterans, thank you for continuing with us on our adventure. And to our new players, welcome!

Well done, Radiant! Best of luck in this next step, we’ll be supporting you.

While I did recommend Stonehearth, I did so with caveats. Right now, I think the game is in too raw a form to appeal to a great number of people.

get ready for a ton of positive reviews !!!!!

Will the game ever be a part of Steam Workshop?

    • imsocool

Yes, it /probably/ will. And my guess is you will be able to post buildings, mods, and possibly saved games/maps. Also servers, like minecraft, since it’ll be multiplayer, but that might not happen. At the same time, it’ll be a while before Workshop even launches for stonehearth, since they’re working on more important details to the game.

  • GareauRA

Wow! 98% Approval on Steam! Not to many games can hold that title! Awesome!!!

  • Atralane

I would like to request to the fellow Stonehearth community that, should someone post a negative response regarding the game, please do not harass them or bomb them with offensive PMs. I have only seen a few negative critics to this point, and from I saw these players seemed willing to change their stance in the future with a little more features or polish to the game. Calling these people out and antagonizing them’s only going to hurt Stonehearth and the community’s reputation.

Isn’t there supposed to be a stream right now?

  • Naratol

For those who are backers of the Kickstarter campaign at the $15 level, is this when we get our keys, or will that be when the game leaves Early Access? I can’t seem to find any info on this.

    • jonyon

i think that since radiant missed their original release date they have desided to give the game to all the backers. if i’m right you can download it right now trough humble bundle AND activate a steam key you should get at the humble page.

      • BANTO
